The Karoo 2 was 399 dollar and in euro's €327,-
Now it appears that Hammerhead has decided that 1 dollar is 1 euro.
Why?

Hey Gerard. Sorry for the confusion.
there was a technical glitch in the system which showed 1$ is 1 Euro. However, this has been resolved now. Karoo is priced at $339 USD and is equivalent to 399 euros. The 399 euros includes the tax as well. You can see the final price of your unit at the checkout page when you are placing the final order.

Related to this, $339 USD = £248.99 GBP ($1 USD = $0.74 GBP)
I've just paid the £270 GBP balance on my Karoo 2 having already paid a pre-order deposit of £89.00 GBP.
Therefore £270 + £89 = £359 GBP which equates (roughly) to $489 USD in total. Some $150 USD more than you quote above.
So, have I paid $489 USD for a $339 USD Karoo 2? With $150 USD in tax?
I know Europe is a rip off (UK especially) but I would also query Hammerhead's maths here. Or is this just a means of offsetting the Karoo 1 trade-in to make it look like a good deal?
To be honest, I didn't even think about this after waiting 5 months for the damned thing.
For the record, I believe I've possibly paid the correct amount in GBP (since a Karoo 2 Gift Card is £359 GBP). But if you're saying that the Karoo 2 is $339 USD, Abhishek, I'm not so sure. Does this include the pre-order deposit?

The listed prices on our website are all inclusive for your convenience, using a conversion rate fixed based on historical averages. As a result, the price you see now includes all local taxes, VAT, import duties and shipping, so there won’t be any added charges to get your unit delivered to your doorstep. The €399 includes VAT. The $399 is not subject to VAT fees. -

Gerard, Steve - Let me explain this to you.
Karoo 2 is priced at $399 which does not take VAT into consideration. However, for the European countries, Karoo 2 is priced at 399 Euros which includes the VAT (approx 21%) as well. I would like to make a point that the price of 399 includes the pre-order deposit as well.

I've deposited €88,91 / US$99,- for a pre-order.
I'm having second thoughts about the acquisition at this time (I plan to buy it anyway, but not before an as of yet unannounced, but anticipated discount, as was the case with my 1st gen Karoo acquisition a year or so after the launch). Will the deposit be counted towards a purchase later on (i.e., past the pre-order phase), so that I can pay up the remainder when a discount kicks in?
As of the EU tax, it is an obvious ripoff. Damned be the thoroughly anti-European establishment that's known as the "EU".
