Hire a Designer that actually uses the device!

In contrast to many others, I really do not mind the new in ride graphics in general. Separation between data fields seems like a good idea and it could improve readability. The field titles seem more readable now. But the whole UI (not only the new changes) looks like it has been designed in front of a 32 inch screen and then never tested on the road. Have you actually tried riding and seeing anything while there is traffic, vibrations, reflections, sweat and you are under an effort? 

It is impossible to see a thing with the now EVEN SMALLER data font! If you want to see anything you need to spend so long looking for it that you risk crashing.

One of the most upvoted posts from two years ago on this forum talked about the poor use of space, small icons, thin lines and tiny fonts (https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/1260803144990-Use-the-Space-How-it-is-vs-how-it-could-be-?page=2#comments) What do they do? Make it even smaller. It is just ridiculous at this point. If you need an example of a device with a tiny screen and a very readable in-ride UI look at Wahoo. It is just a world of difference.

Summarizing:

- The font sizes for data are way to small

- There is loads of unused whitespace, surely the data fields can be rearranged to use this space better

- Icons everywhere in the system (control center, app gallery) are ridiculously small.

- There should never be the need for a two line field title. Use the space for the actual data and shorten field titles

- Drastically improve the quality control for the design process. A dumpster fire like this should have never made it past the prototyping phase. There is something seriously wrong with your design process!

I was thinking about recommending the device to my dad and a couple of friends looking to buy a cycling computer. But with this update, Hammerhead broke my trust and I will definitely not recommend the device to anyone.

    Unfortunately I recommended my sister's device before the update came. I will advise her not to not install the new update during the initial setup. You would be disappointed with the new design.

    Simply, number font is just way too small unnecessarily.

    Yes, and my personal pet peeve in this regard is the map un/lock icon, absolutely impossible to see the difference without looking very very very closely.

    +1.  And all I would add is the field titles need to be smaller, upper/lower case, and in a subdued color. They add too much visual noise and visually compete with the actual data when quick glancing at the unit.

    Just going through the forum and adding my +1 to the dislike of the UI changes.  I personally did not have ANY issues with the old one, and loved it's simplicity and use of space.   This is 3 steps back IMO.

    I would say first - hire an experienced designer or two.  Them using the device would just be a bonus.

    I would summarize it in:

    - larger numbers
    - the field title in 1 line, always!
