Long time Garmin user coming over
I've used Garmin running watches forever, and have gotten used to the Connect environment for integrating my runs and cycling. I recently tried the Edge 130+ and was a little underwhelmed by the lack of mapping. The Karoo 2 looks like a nice upgrade from the Edge, but I'm wondering how to integegrate the Karoo and Garmin data. I currently get HR from my Garmin Fenix6 watch, and power/cadence/speed from the Edge.
Will I need to keep two separate training logs, for runs with Garmin and rides with the Karoo2, or is there a way to integrate the two data streams?
Can the Karoo import the HR data from the Garmin Fenix6 ?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Price for one. And although I've used Garmin for ages, their user interface has always been clunky at best. So I thought I might try the Karoo 2 since it went on sale. And I realized that even with the Edge 130+, I was collecting the data on my watch and just using the Edge as a readout while on the ride.

I normally ride with my Garmin FR 255 for all the copious health stats and use my Karoo 2 for on bike stuff and for a record of my rides since it auto uploads to Hammerhead Dashboard. I no longer record my mileage, but if I still wanted detailed mileage / routes / climb / totals, and such, I'd link my Hammerhead account to one of the other services like Strava, which also uploads automatically.
(plus - I wear a Polar HR strap that feeds both my Watch and Karoo2 since it seems better than the wrist based sensors)

Yes, collecting all the data on the fenix (it does power, cadence and speed just fine) and using the karoo for display works just fine. You could also record on the karoo and sync everything on strava. But you will lose a lot of analysis (with the free strava account) and the bells and whistles of garmin (like fatigute/FTP, recovery time calculation and whatnotelse).
I must admit that I find the garmin stuff much more mature in everyday usage (i use a fenix 6x pro and an edge 1030) and only use the karoo in winter times when the garmin is unusable because it does not have buttons to use it with gloves and in rain. The touchscreen also is a lot less responsive.
