Why is live tracking the worst available?
I recently purchased the Karoo 2 and was very excited to get it up and running. That excitement rapidly faded when I got home from my first ride and my wife told me the live tracking barely worked and gave her very little information. That led to a lot of web searching only to discover years of the same complaints. Why is live tracking so poorly implemented? It's worse than simple location sharing with my phone! Why is safety a second (or even lower) tier issue? Needless to say, I'm pretty frustrated that I'm going to have to choose between the Karoo or my Garmin when heading out on longer rides. For a device at this price-point I'm very disappointed.

Agree, tried this for a few months and found live tracking to be unreliable and be of less use than using a phone. This area is massively under developed.
Some areas that would be good:
1) reliable tracking - not sure why it's so bad when live map is ok.
2) option to share ride stats live (choose which stats)
3) track multiple riders at same time - very useful at events
4) route to location of another rider in a shared list.
Which of these gets your vote or what would you add?

The live tracking on my old Wahoo Elemnt Bolt was clearly better than Hammerhead... Every time i started a route with my old wahoo, my three favourites contacts receive a notification on their phones, they dont need to have the link stored in their phones, that is the only way with Hammerhead. If someone of my family wanted to know where i was, they just click on the link and they can see the route that i was following, the complete route that i was to do and my speed, time etc etc, so much information to know the time that i was going to need to arrive at home... The live tracking option needs to be greatly improved, there is still a lot of work to do.
