Navigation strangeness
After almost over 3 years of using the karoo2 navigation still feels like still in evaluation-state:
Whenever i leave the selected route - due to closed road or whatever - the navigation looses my destination, so i never will reach that destination.
Due to the strange limitation of the whole navigation-software i make my routes from Home to destination and back to home. (If a route is only from home to destination, i have to add a separate route from destination to home - mostly because i cannot use all times the same route due to traffic-rules, so i make my routes in both directions to have a lightweight list of routes). So first i dont understand why at selecting a route i cannot choose where to drive: Home or destination! So after selecting a route, why do i have to extra confirm my selection, but cannot select where to drive?
I never found a way to directly change the destination from destination to home and vice-versa. I would expect again when i select the route!
I found two strange setting-buttons at settings: Route to home and route to start.
What are tis settings for? They are set-reset-settings: When one day i tapped "route to home" it routed me to my home, but the next day when i selected a new route and started that ride, all time the navigation wanted me to drive home!
So here my questions: Why are these "buttons" inside settings? Why dont these settings auto-reset whenever i reach the destination? Why do you show only home and start? What about drive to destination?
Whenever a route is finished (start from home, drive to destination, drive back home - in my case), why dont you end that route by deleting it from the actual ride? So like its done with every navigation-system i know. Whenever i reach my destination, route is deleted and when i start the new ride, i select a new route or when i dont select a new route, i get the normal card-view.
So my next question to navigation is the fact that without a sim-card installed, i am still not able to start a new navigation by choosing a destination via entering the street-name. Whenever i do this, i get a message "no internet connection" and nothing more happens! I have offline-maps installed, so it should be possible to search a destination.
One last thing regarding navigation: At home when i start up the karoo2, wifi is enabled, but whenever i start the "add route", wifi gets disabled so i have to enable wifi again manual! Why? It should stay enabled till i start my ride!

Fahr:
I see no one has taken this up, but as you have mentioned a couple of things that interest me, I will give my view;
1) Leave selected route:
This should activate the automatic re-routing and try and route you back to the original defined route. If that is not working there is probably something wrong with the device. (Note: a lot of people are unhappy with re-routing and want to switch it off which is not possible.)2) I don't understand your problem with single routes Out & Back. You don't need to select Home or Dest., it's implicit in your route.
3) Change destination from destination to home and vice-versa:
Your route has it's destination defined by you. To go back to the start, select your Route, swipe up, select Follow in reverse. This will follow your original route to the start (i.e. home in your case) including with TbT's4) Route to home and route to start:
They do what they say.
Route to home will only work if you home address is entered in your Dashboard account.Route to start calculates a route to where you started the ride, obviously enough. However, it will calculate based on your surface type preferences. I would never use this as it will no doubt pick the quickest route and send you on main roads.
5) Route is finished;
Here I agree with you, once at destination the Route should ask if you want to stop it. An option to keep going is required in case you missed the destination and you want the K2 to re-route you back to it. However, it should not keep going for ever. Please also note that my Garmin 1000 does keep going exactly for the reason stated.6) No internet connection:
This is correct, I assume it is not possible to search inside the downloaded maps. However you could create a Hotspot with your phone for the internet:7) WIFI gets disabled on starting a route:
As you already have a route loaded, HH wants to help you save your battery. See the start of the same Help page as before:____________________________________________________
As you can see from my post, you should perhaps read the instructions more often. You would then not waste quite so much of your time (or mine) and you would be less stressed and a more contented K2 user.Have fun riding & routing.
