Software bugs of karoo2
After using the karoo2 now long time (was an early adopter) i see that whatever new feature was added over the time, its not added completely or it doesnt work reliable:
SRAM AXS worked at the beginning when that feature was added, now its broken since 3 software-updates.
GPS is broken, due to the extremely long time it needs to settle.
Navigation didnt evolve in 3 years, so much things go wrong: When i leave the predefined route, i am routed back home, never to destination!
When the navigation-software wants to route back to the predefined route (yellow line), it doesnt route a neat way, it only routes back the "shortest" way to the yellow line, even when following the actual road ends back to the yellow line. U-turns are nearly never presented, your navigation is made for cars! Bike-ways are nearly never presented, only big streets!
The dashboard-routing-software works the same strange way, so i changed to komoot to make routes.
Whenever the karoo2 starts up, wifi is enabled. When i try to add a route in terms of adding street-name to find it, wifi is disabled, i have to enable it again.
Searching a street to navigate to without internet-connection fails all time! Even when i search around the map to find the street, mostly i cannot find it due to missing street-names inside the map.
Why is it not possible to select like "shortest way", "fastest way", "only bike ways" or whatever? Any navigation-device i know has this kind of features!
Sometimes i get presented a kind of message which disappears again after some time. I use glasses, without i am not able to read that messages. So stopping, searching my glasses and... message disappeared. Strange kind of feature. I call it a bug.
You changed fonts to a smaller size: Why? Now its even more difficult to see values like speed or whatever. But you waste a lot of space around the mumbers.
Button-symbols are extremely small regarding the size of the buttons.
Coloring seems to be a pricy task: Nearly all is made grey-grey. An example: The round symbols at the left side of the map-display: The lock is grey, locked or unlocked. Why not green when unlocked and red when locked? The direction-symbol is grey too - Why dont you give it a different color to make it seeable for people like me? The suunto-symbol is grey when enabled and grey when disabled: Why not orange when enabled and grey when disabled (as an option).
When riding, the software looses the internal waypoints: I ride using roads to a destination, make a pause and later ride back. Here i see that parts of the ride got lost, so i see a straight line from one point of the way to another point of the same way (grey lines), which crosses houses or even rivers where no bridges are...
There are much more things which dont work or only work partly, so i tend to think that you dont have any kind of quality control for the firmware!
When i try to use your online-help, again i see only partly implemented help:
When i tried to get the AXS included, i saw nice pics but nowhere explained how to get that things implemented. I finally found it by searching the internet. But i didnt get your help-page, it was found somewhere else.
You introduces Ant+ LEV. Again, only rudiment information. So nowhere i see which options of the Ant+ Lev standard are implemented, nor how to get it working. What a mess!
So finally you made a great piece of hardware with a small bug: The software!
PS: I have read that hammerhead was bought by SRAM: Hopefully they implement a quality-control in terms of software and a kind of bug-reporting-system!

For some of your problems it is not exactly clear what is not working:
1) AXS what is broken?
I have SRAM AXS Eagle gears and that works perfectly and also uploads Ok to the SRAM AXS App. I also have the Quarq Power Meter which is also working perfectly.
2) Re-routing is a known problem with HH. There is a big requirement for some customisation on how it should be applied - no re-routing; U-turn; re-route only ahead to next route point, etc. That is not currently not available, one can only hope.
3) I agree with the Notifications not being long enough on screen. I am not sure if the type you mention are in the Control Center Notification Page, you should check next time. If not create a Support Ticket for this to be updated.
4) DF Font Sizes too small. If you read the K2 Update page for 29.6.23 (the one following the UI change) you will see that they increased the DF size. Therefore I do not see the issue here. However, they could definitely be increased again by making the bolder.
5) The Map Colours are much better on the K2 than Garmin and when navigating the map and route is actually readable, however again HH could improve with colouring some on the icons as you suggest.
6) AXS Setup. I do not understand your problem, AXS & Quarq are standard Sensors and are integrated as any other sensor, this is what the HH Help Page states, what is the problem? You just need to activate the AXS component, as stated in the SRAM help, and and add as a Sensor. I didn’t even look at any Help Pages. Finally, I disagree with the statement that HH has a degraded Support after the SRAM takeover. The Support is exemplary, they listened after the ridiculous whinging about the UI and they answer any support ticket quickly and fully. Try that with Garmin.
There are still major areas for improvement - Re-routing Customisation; Elevation Gain etc., but the device is still better than the Garmin 1040, which I sent back. -
As above - My AXS integration is fine - you don't say what your issue is other than it just doesn't work.
I wear glasses and there are a couple of options regarding display config and font size from the UI update as per the previous poster (there is an obvious limit to the font size due to the physical size 🤷♂️). I can see all I need to though.
Messages disappearing is annoying as you say. They are visible to Hammerhead though as they can see them on their servers, it would be useful if it kept them on the device.
