Revers route
AnsweredHi,
I created my route in Dashboard and uploaded it to Karoo. Once the road was completed and arrived at the destination, I closed it. Then I wanted to return via the same path so I chose the same route but there was no option – Reverse hence my question, how to return via the same path once the route is finished?
I tried Go to Strat but it was not the same path and there was no option, Reverse route.
The question is: how to return by the same path, once arrived at the destination and the road closed.

Jim is correct and it can be found as he states!
“Route in reverse” does exactly what it says on the tin; i.e. reverses the route that you have planned and followed. I did exactly this yesterday and it worked perfectly complete with TBTs. It also reroutes perfectly as I went purposely off-course a couple of times and it re-routed me to my original Yellow Chevroned route.
It does not build a new path! It does follow the original route only in reverse.
Romi: perhaps instead of your second moan, you should have actually tried what Jim told you.

“It does not build a new path! It does follow the original route only in reverse.”
NO it’s build a NEW path using original route. It look like original SOMETIMES, but NO. It’s not original path.
Karoo rebuild it with some kind of stupid algorithms.P.S. If you just load route in reverse way - Karoo can show original route, but when you start moving, it immediately rebuild route.

The very fact that we have this dilemma is not normal, it should be intuitive. Even if Jim is right, you have to be careful not to finish the ride. In short, if the ride was closed, then nothing could be done. In my opinion, it is not normal. We should be able to finish the ride, reopen and choose the reverse route. After all, it's a GPS.
One way to get around this problem would be to program 2 rides, to destination and the sema route from destination to start.
MikeF, I lost confidence in Karoo when, after an update, I lost speed via GPS. It was now, over a year. Sincee then, I have to use an external sensor to get speed.

Romi,
There is absolutely no dilemma, I don’t know what you are doing or thinking and it is (relatively) intuitive, although with a few swipes:
1) ride as per your route to the end (or wherever you like)
2) at the end, go to the Control Panel swipe to the Ride screen and stop the route with Remove
3) in the same screen Add Route or via the Home Screen / Apps icon
4) select your Route again
5) swipe up
6) select Follow in reverse
7) start route… et voila follow your route back to the startNB:
There is, however, definitely room for improvement:
1) HH should not use Remove to stop the route, this is confusing. It should say Stop Route.
2) the above should not even be necessary, when you reach a destination the route should automatically be stopped
3) I noticed on reverse route that the TBT beep that should occur near the turning didn’t always sound or sometimes too late on the turn itself (the original at 150M or whatever was ok). I’m not sure if this was also the case occasionally on a route in the original direction.
4) you should be able to Pause or Stop the route without going into the Control Panel; e.g. a double tap on the map screen should give you the options - Pause Route / Stop Route / Continue -

As for the speed with GPS, this should work, all head-units have this. However there may have been problems:
https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043997033-Distance-not-recording-Speed-to-showing
This is an old post, but has been taken up again this year and HH are involved in the post.
You should have created a support ticket when this occurred.
However a speed sensor is better if you ride in areas (forests etc.) where GPS is not so good.
