Dashboard - Route Builder Recommendations
I've been taking advantage of the route builder more frequently after letting my Strava subscription lapse.
To get the full benefit of the route planner, I believe the following features would be a great benefit:
- Heatmaps: we already have this on the Karoo. Adding heat maps to the route planner would be very helpful.
- Surface type indicator: While you can select your preference of surface type, there is no indication of what surface type is for any section of road.
(The combination of both the above features makes for a much safer and more reliable route plan).
- 3D map: While we do have the option to see the route profile while creating the route, it could be beneficial to switch between 2D and 3D.
- Labeling: I haven't put too much thought into it, but I believe having clear labelling will help organize the routes more efficiently. For example, allowing me to filter all gravel or road routes would be great (Yes, I could create a collection). The dashboard does indicate what 'routing preference' you've chosen when creating the route, but should I pop into the route and select this after the route is completed, the route planner tries to adjust the route you've created - which you may or may not want.

I share in your frustration for managing routes and currently create collections as a workaround. What I would really like to see is a 'location' filter so that I can quickly pull up all the routes within a given location (say X miles). Combine with 'route preference' filter, you could quickly pull up all the routes for a specific geo you've created or imported.
