    It seems that support is no longer going to be offered,

    the latest update does not load in karoo2

    Karoo Software Build Version: 1.474.1840 – Hammerhead EU

    this is called planned obsolescence

    I have 1.471.1830.12 loaded on my Karoo 2, which it says is the latest.

    Today came v1.474.1840.12 and it works for me just fine.

    I just hope they Hamerhead continues supporting Karoo 2. There are still bugs and missing things.

    The ability to upgrade to the latest software release and the ability to use the newly released companion app are separate issues. I can upgrade my software with no problems, but if I download the companion app to my phone, it tells me that it only works with the latest Karoo and doesn’t work with my Karoo 2.

    There is no decision to end the support for Karoo 2 as of yet. We will keep releasing the software for both the unit as of now. The latest update will install on Karoo and Karoo 2, except a few features exclusive for the Karoo.

    Been following the companion app situation since the new Karoo release and have to say the lack of
    information by Hammerhead is staggering. If Hammerhead as has been suggested don’t plan to roll out the app for Karoo 2 customers then like many other I will be taking my business else where.
    It seems very shortsighted of the company to believe that customer will remain loyal to the brand after being treated so badly.

    Indeed, their response here or else where is really bad. I don't like this kind of an attitude what so ever! Where I these guys from anyway?

    They act like they don't really care about anything, incluidng their product! If I would have something like this, I would be listening to anyone... this is a golden mine!

    Just got the new Karoo after my screen shattered in the 2. The companion app is really no big deal. It’s not like you can whip your phone out and change settings on the fly on your phone. I’m just not getting the use of it. I can’t really change anything in the companion app like ala Wahoo. Really it’s unimpressive

    I fully agree Steven . the only need is when you want to be connected so people can follow you and/or do download maps/routes . (ie the app replaces the sim in the karoo 2)

    Yes Egon. Im just not getting the use of it and huge deal every you tuber is making of the companion app. It’s almost like Hammerhead wants to make a big deal of it so that people upgrade. It’s really NO BIG DEAL! Plus!!!- Alert tones for radar is now just absolutely terrible. Plus!!!!- now no way to lose the volume for any alert. What is Hammerhead/sram doing???
