    The Karoo 3 is my first Hammerhead and I am a little disappointed that control music is not an basic feature.

    This is a must-have feature for me in order to purchase this device. I don't want to take out and handle my phone or use Garmin watch to control music/podcasts.

    Thanks for sharing your suggestions and votes for this feature! We have shared it with the product team for their reference. I am sure they would love to explore this option further.

    We are seeing that a few users have successfully installed Spotify on the Karoo, which has resulted in a positive experience.

    The option to control the audio player from Karoo would be a very useful feature. Adding Spotify is only an intermediate solution, because there are also apps for listening to podcasts.

    Is this option even being considered by the Karoo team?

    Don't think, Hammerhead will ever implement this anymore. That's why I've bought a simple bluetooth remote control for bicycles for just a few bugs and this works like a charme ;-)

    In my opinion, a media player is a must-have because it’s truly a safety-relevant feature to be able to control music while keeping your hands on the handlebars.

    Media control and call control are a must-have. Considering that Karoo OS is an android-based system this shouldn't be that difficult to be implemented?

    Thank you, this is great news. But unfortunately I cannot see playing media in my Karoo. I updated and restarted both Companion App (1.45.1) and Karoo (1.585.2249.20), managed to add media controls in data pages, but even though Spotify is playing on my Android phone, Karoo says "No Media" in those fields. I turned on every Companion App related notification, but no success. Can you please help?

    Everything was done according to the instructions. I re-paired, restarted, and all notifications were enabled. Unfortunately, I don't see the Spotify controls on my Karoo. (Oneplus 12, Poland)

    Confirming it works nicely for me! Karoo3, iPhone. Would love for the UI to get a bit more streamlined (do we really need the heading and icons on each of the data-fields?) But happy we have this working!

    Works great in new karoo / ios music. It's very handy when doing indoor training to skip tracks and pause. I think it was one of the only wahoo features i missed when i switched to new karoo from bolt2.

    I've found a potential reason why player control on the Karoo works for some and not for others. I use **Polish** daily, and that's the language I have on my Pixel phone. The same is true for my second phone, a OnePlus 7T, which also uses Polish. So, as a test, I changed the system language on the OnePlus 7T to **English (American)**, re-paired the OnePlus 7T with the Karoo 3, and then played music again—the player appeared, and I was able to control it.

    I reported this issue to support directly earlier, and they haven't resolved it yet, but I've sent them the potential cause for this situation. Generally, the Polish language is **not supported** by the Hammerhead Karoo 3, which is likely why they haven't tested this solution with a primary system language other than English.

    Please check this and give me feedback.

    Sadly doesn't work for me. I've updated the Karoo and the App on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with Android 16 but it doesn't detect any media. I've tried it with several media apps and checked that the app has full access to all notifications.
