Radar Detection Beeps (K3)
Relax, this isn't a complaint about the new, louder notifications.
I've been getting a significant number of double and even triple beeps on my K3 from my Garmin Varia. These are repeat beeps with no gap between them. It seems to happen most often in-town when a vehicle is detected at the limit of the radar's range.
I'm pretty sure the problem is with my radar unit and I would be curious if anyone else sees the same behavior.
If it happens to other users I'd like to suggest that the K3 code have an added line or two that mutes any second beep if the prior beep was less than 1.5 seconds earlier.
I it's not happening to others I'd like to know so I can consider replacing my Varia.
PS: I like the louder, impossible to miss radar notifications. Yes, it can be annoying at times, but it is easily muted, and I think that's a small price to pay for never missing a car approaching warning when out on the road.

Same problem occurs with Karoo 2 since the unit was new. It might be an issue from the radar or just randomness from the roads/curves and cars, but Karoo should really handle that in a graceful way. Sometimes it sounds so annoying when it beeps like 3 times in a row.
I've seen comments about that issue a long time ago but was it never addressed like so many other Karoo problems.

You both should think about opening a service ticket. I did and HH support was quick to answer and we came to the conclusion the problem was probably with my particular Varia (RL515) unit partly because there were no other similar problems reported in their system. Even if the problem is on the Varia side HH could add a line in code to: "not trigger an audible notification if the previous notification was less than 1.5 seconds earlier".
There's a better chance they will adjust their code if more people report the problem.
