No.... tried with tools like Strautomator but, there isn't enough data on the FIT file....

I have the Karoo 2 and the Karoo 3. They have promised new features and this request is quite basic.

I am starting to get tired... I may just jump to Garmin and say goodbye to the whole Hammerhead thing.

Very disappointing for sure. It would be a big plus to have this feature.

Hi All, I saw with the latest firmware update (1.495.1907) that the Strava API has been a focus. While the K2 does allow for ride tags such as "commute" directly to Strava and these are correctly mapped, the bike matching is still not working. I have tried removing the default ride type per bike in the Strava settings and ensured the bike name is identical on the K2 and Strava, however not having any luck. Has anyone been able to get this working?

I have a work around, but it depends on the number of bikes you have, it may not work for you. In my case., I have just two bikes, but I think it could work for more, so long as you have less bikes than Strava has ride types.

I have a profile for bike #1. In that profile I set the Ride Type to "Mountain Bike". That profile will be read in to Strava at the end of my ride, and tagged "Mountain Bike" as ride type. It doesn't matter whether it actually is an MTB ride or not, because I then have an automation in strautomator that looks for newly uploaded "Mountain Bike" ride types, and changes the ride to the correct type, selects the bike I ride with that profile from my Strava gear list, and sets an appropriate activity name.

I have a profile for bike #2. In that profile I set the Ride Type to "Ride". I have a similar strautomator automation to set the appropriate gear, activity, and ride type for that bike.

If I had a 3rd bike, I'd have a profile for that and set the Ride Type to "Gravel" or another compatible ride type and I'd use a 3rd automation in strautomator. You only get 3 free automations with strautomator, so this work around starts to cost money if you have many bikes, but I just have two. Obviously it would be much better for Karoo to send the bike / gear to Strava in the correct format, to make this unnecessary.
