Hammerhead Mount Accessory Adapter

I am sure this is a really dumb question. I recently ordered a Hammerhead Mount Accessory Adapter with the intention of mounting my headlight to the bottom of a standard Karoo 2 mount. I noticed, however, that the screw holes are horizontally (side by side) rather than vertically oriented as the holes in the adapter would suggest is required. Is the adapter intended for use with a standard Karoo 2 mount?

  If it is the one from the store it does say it is not compatible with the Karoo 2 Mount
