K2 Improperly Reporting E-assist Battery Life

I bought a Trek Domane+ e-assist bike a few days ago and have done three 40+miles the last three days.  My K2 found it configured data for the display.  All three rides the K2 reports battery critical at around 41-42. miles in to the ride.  The bike itself reports 40 more miles left in the battery.  Personally, I figure the onboard system knows better than the K2 but it still is worrisome when a red banner come up on the screen announcing imminent battery death.

Obviously, I need to keep riding another 20 miles or so and see what happens and I will soon as I get a chance.  In the mean time, anyone else have something similar?
