HAHAHA! the clever solution you’ve implemented, I did the same. There is no need for replacement, as it would only result in unnecessary hardware waste. This approach is effective. While it is understandable that a new head unit should not exhibit such issues, I am willing to accept this and embrace the overall evolution of what a bike computer can be. I am confident that Hammerhead will address this in future models :)

@No Sports - you can open it and put a small square of tape on the button on the inside to make it touch the button of the case

I have another replacement now and the newest one does not rattle.

@Neil Kidney - thank you, I'm glad someone already tried it this way! Once my tape goes off, that will be a more permanent solution.

Same issue for me on the top right button. Took me a couple of rides to understand where this noise was coming! Will try to stick some tape behind the button 🤞

I'm experiencing the same issue with the lower right button on my Karoo 3 – it makes a noticeable rattling sound when shaken or during rough rides. The button works fine functionally, but the rattle is quite distracting, especially on uneven terrain.

I’ve already contacted Hammerhead support about this but haven’t received a response yet. In the meantime, I wanted to check in here to see if others have had any updates or resolutions from support. Is this something Hammerhead has acknowledged as normal, or are they treating it as a defect?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

My Karoo had the same rattling issue and the device was replaced immediately, sent it in on monday and on friday a brand new device arrived - everything is fine now! no more electrical tape, no more rattling - I'm happy :)

I also got the info yesterday that my Karoo qualifies for a replacement. Hopefully once the whole process is done, I’ll be just as happy – looks like it was definitely worth reporting the issue.

My button rattles too, since the day I put the Karoo out of the box.

But I don‘t wan!t to send it back.

It seems that this is a general problem of the most Karoo Units.

My Karoo did not rattle but was restarting due to a sticky power button. Support quickly sent me out a new shell and the sticky power button issue is resolved but now the upper right button rattles and is quite annoying when riding. I reopened my support ticket but I am not confident there is a good solution.
