Live tracking auto send notification
Please add possibility to auto send live tracking notification when I am starting and ending ride. Karoo should sends notification via email or sms to aproved contact list. It should be message with link to live tracking. I know, this link is constans but there is not comfortable to send it every time when I am starting my ride, but I have to do it because there I have any knowledge is my familiy members have this link still, or even yes maybe it is under thousands of other messages.

@Aishwarya does Companion App know the Karoo is in ride mode or not?
If yes, this is a very, very easy to do. Only allowing to sending sms by CA is needed. If CA detect state change by Karoo, just send sms with LiveTrack link to the list of contacts configured in CA. So easy, really!

This is very much needed. With the latest update live tracking works really well and it’s very useful.
Now, I want to be able to define a list of contacts so every time I start an activity they get notified with a link to follow the activity. It could be an email, a WhatsApp, a CA notification (this would require support for non registered users) or anything else.
Please think carefully about this one. I’ve been using this for years with Garmin, it would be great to see implemented in Karoo.

Yea I must say iv come from a really basic (cheap) Lezyne GPS which has the feature to send a notification to loved ones that your on a ride, or ending a ride with a link to live tracking of that ride, yet this top end of the market (and cost) Karoo GPS lack this is very disappointing!
My wife is currently using my "old" Lezyne GPS and I get notifications of her rides, every ride.. VERY disappointing that this feature isn't an option at the moment..
As Gregory requested, can we have some indication of timeframe for this feature?

I tried Wahoo, I tried Garmin. Now I try Karoo... But everywhere is the same. Once they get bigger they stop listening, every change is hard and many useful improvements are low on priority. But with AI and vibecoding soon we will not need them to make changes, we will do it ourselves. The reason for not delivering this is that SMS for ex. costs money. But they could just send an email with a notification, right?

Has anyone even got the standard tracking to work? I spent a while back and forth on the phone with my wife, while I was out on a ride, sharing the link from the app.... All my wife could ever get was a "Failed to Locate" despite both my phone and the Karoon having full GPS signal.
Very disappointing that this "High End" unit seems to have such an inoperable tracking system.
Aishwarya, if something can be setup similar to the Lezyne system then that would be great. Essentially when a ride is started, an email is sent (that says ** has started a ride) to a pre-prescribed address, that has a link on it to the live tracking webpage.

Yea a huge thanks to the team to get this feature up and running. Its outstanding!
I particularly like that it sends an email, as this means when traveling the message is always received (no roaming phone costs or having to swap numbers around when overseas). And the ability to see the riders speed/ride time/ride distance etc.. live is just amazing.
