Wd 40 works for this issue tho. I feel like the power button stucks there like every 2month? Definately manufacturing issue, but hey, wd 40 solves it.

I also have this problem on my Karoo 3. I've noticed that removing the cover from the power connector frees the power button a little and it behaves normally again, so when I put the cover back on I push it well to the left. This affects maybe a tenth of an inch, but it's enough to stop blocking the power button.

I have just been sent a replacement K3 to address the rattling side button issue (which it has addressed on the 4th attempt)  and I have noticed that the power connector cover doesn't push all the way in so it's flush and if you try to push it in it operates the power button. It's clearly catching like the above posters have said.

Honestly these cases are truly awful.

Before sending my Karoo 3 back, I took the shell off, as if I was going to install a color shell. The unit actually functions well like this. I have no power on issues anymore.

I am tempted to just remove the USB C cover from the shell in insert it in the "shell-less" computer.

Update. I applied extra fine grit sandpaper to each side that makes contact to the opening in the bottom shell. About 8 light passes per side.

I tested the button movement in and out of the shell opening and it definitely didn't stick as bad as before.

I then applied an insanely small amount graphite lube. (Literally it looks like I scribbled on each side of the button with a pencil) and put the shell back together over the computer.

It works really well now. No sticking at all. Hopefully this will be a rather permanent fix.

Oh yeah, I've cycle power a few times and it's working great.

Thanks for all the information on this issue, glad I found these posts.  It is so frustrating but now I have an idea on how to "fix" it.  Does anyone know of this has been fixed in newer units?

I'm leery of spraying it with WD40 or otherwise modifying it, won't that cause warranty/replacement issues?

I think at the time I made my decision to just try and fix it, there wasn't really a warranty. I would have had to pay for another shell.

Light high grit sandpaper and some dry graphite lube totally fixed my problem.

Good luck with yours! What ever path you take. Believe me I was there frustrated as you must be.

Thanks Klenton - It would be great if Hammerhead would step up with either a fix or new units without this issue.
