Dashboard and Karoo Route Elevation Wrong on Planned Route
What is the cause of the elevation on the dashboard being off by a significant amount? I did an event on Sunday and the planned route on the dashboard indicated elevation of 2,645m but the actual elevation on the ride was 2,139m (which is close to what the event organizer published). On Komoot the same planned ride shows 2,400m and RideWithGPS shows 2,060m. RideWithGPS was within an acceptable margin but HH was so far off and this is what was showing on the Karoo. I use the remaining elevation to help me plan my effort.

The ticket I opened was for a different issue related to grade on my Karoo and on the dashboard and was determined to be caused by riding in intense rain interfering with the barometer vent hole.
This post is about the total elevation reported on my route both pre-ride on the dashboard and during the ride. The difference is substantial and makes it difficult to plan a ride if I cannot rely on the expected elevation from the route and remaining elevation during a ride.
