Map + Elevation Profile?

Hey all,

 

Really liking what I see with the Karoo, probably going to get one soon.

I was wondering, one thing that would be really nice for me is if you could have a map screen, with a small graph of upcoming elevation as a secondary display item.

To illustrate (apologies for the rough photoshop and imagine the unit is on a route that includes elevation data, I think this map may just be wandering without a route):

The idea being, I'd be able to know I'm on course, know about upcoming turns or other things, as well as have a good idea of the upcoming terrain. I find myself switching between my Garmin's map screen and elevation screen a lot on unfamiliar courses. I'm often wondering how bad *is* this hill anyway? If I knew before hand if it's a short blip or a monster that I should settle in for without constantly fiddling with my gps unit, that would be amazing.

I wasn't able to find any example screenshots of this, but who knows.

  Thanks for your dedication in sharing this with us. And I think it's totally possible to have on Karoo. Just shared the idea with product and design team for their consideration.

  I really like that idea too! Is it on the roadmap already? During long climbs you really want to see the upcoming elevation plus the map in one screen to see the upcoming curvers/exits and sideways.

  Is this still in the pipeline? I have been waiting on this for several months. 

   

  I have also found that the elevation graph doesn't really match what I see ahead of me for the most part. There seems to be some accuracy issue. Anyone else noticed this?

  Hi. Just received my Karoo 2 (thankyou!) And was wondering about this feature for multiple map pages within a profile also. Another feature would be to enable embedding the elevation profile map on part of the data screen, if there is a technical reason why we can't have more than 1 map screen per profile.

  I just answered my suggestion about embedding an elevation profile on the data screen; it already exists! It still would be good to have multiple map page options per profile...
