So what is the answer? Can it connect directly with Garmin Fenix 5 via Bluetooth to get the pulse from the wrist watch?

    Hi,

I know the above articles are 3+ years old but what was the workaround solution for connecting the Karoo 2 to the Garmin Fenix 5 so that at least HR monitoring could be undertaken?

I can't get the Karoo 2 to "see" the Fenix 5 for an ANT+ or Bluetooth connection!!! Which is to be used?

    Hi Serge,

You should be able to connect with the Fenix 5 via ANT+ OR Bluetooth. Could you cross verify if Fenix is connecting to another cycling computer? To ensure that there is no issue with the watch's broadcast feature.

Do cross-check if the karoo is connecting via ANT+ & Bluetooth with any other sensors you may have. The Fenix series has a feature where it can broadcast HR when recording activity on the watch. This is usually toggled off once you start recording the activity on the watch and hence disconnects the HR broadcast with the Karoo. You must set the broadcast to be toggled ON when recording activity on the Fenix as well.

    Hope this helps! :)
