I tried using for the first time but was not able to download latest data.Map is not showing on screen but it is tracking me.Do I really have to finish downloading updates so the map will show up on screen.

  Have you downloaded an offline map for your area if your not using a sim ? My unit didn’t come with any maps pre installed hence the blank screen

  I didn't download offline maps as my device could not hook on to our ship's internet,Iwill try to download it on land Thanks for the advice,much appreciated.
