Roel is this were you looking for:
    Go to Settings
    Select Displays
    Here you can select
activate adaptive brightness ( might be the reason that your display is too dark after a while)
Next select Sleep and choose your time.

    Hi,

I see that Dirk has already provided you the correct answer. I really appreciate Dirk for that.

I have the same problem as Dirk, either with adaptive light or without, when you put the device to ‘sleep mode’ by pushing the power button and then again the same button to wake up the device, their is no back light at all. Almost impossible to read anything and push on the screen or any button doesn’t change anything.

The only possibility is to swipe from top and try to find the brightness control (on top). And put it above the minimum.

According to me this is a real bug. Needs to be solved.

If we are the only ones, maybe it is a hardware problem? Where is the light sensor? How to check that it works correctly ?

    Thanks in advance,

    KH

    Hi KH,
it was not my problem, but gave a solution. Honestly writing I think it is not a bug, but the way you do the settings. For your info: I am also a Karoo user. Try to switch off the adaptive brightness , as discribe in my earlier message. Cheers Dirk

    Dirk,

Yes sorry I was referring to the problem of R. Spatjens.(second paragraph)

I will try again but adaptive brightness on or off, this should not happen.

Going out of sleep mode should never lead to a non retro lit screen (where you see almost nothing both in very dark or very bright light environmental. All you can do is guess what is on the screen and go back to the brightness control.

Maybe deactivate the adaptive brightness is a solution but there is definitely a problem (bug)

    Best regards,

    KH

    Dirk,

    I will do.

Fortunately its not permanent and doesn’t impact the ‘in ride’ recording.

    Best regards,

    KH

When will you fix the dark screen problem when you get back from sleep mode? The problem only occurs when screen brightness is set to minimum (either with adaptive light or without, it doesn't matter). You have to intuitively find the brightness bar and set it.
