Having to keep unlinking Strava every time I want to import a route
AnsweredFor the last few months ( not sure which update this behaviour started) every time I want to import a route from strava to the dash board it fails saying cannot import route. this occurs when using the chrome extension or direct import from the Dash. I read a thread in a forum that said he had the same problem and that un-linking his strava account and re-linking it again allowed the route to be imported, this worked a treat. But the next time I want another route I have to do it all over again its like my account needs to be re authorised with strava or something. figuring this was a bug and the coming updates would sort it I waited but now its driving me crazy is there a permanent fix for this and are many other user'e experiencing this problem?

Hi Adrain,
We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. In most of the cases, even if you are getting a 'cannot import route' error message, the route will be uploaded in the background. We are aware of the issue as few other customers have also shared their experiences. I am forwarding this to the software team for further review.

I can confirm that this is still an issue. Using the Chrome extension, when viewing a route summary page in Strava and clicking on the H diamond in the corner, it gives an error message "Cannot import this route from Strava". I therefore have to export it as a GPX, open Karoo dashboard and import it there. Grrrrr....
IME, the easiest method to import routes is to export the route as a GPX, connect the device to a computer, browse to the appropriate directory on the device and copy the file there. Job done!
With Hammerhead, even if the transfer to Karoo dashboard happens easily (which is currently doesn't) then the task takes far longer because I first have to connect the device to wifi and if I'm not at home then this often involves tapping a stupidly long password on the tiny touchscreen. I imagine this is something that can't be changed but it's one of the long list of things that annoys me about this device. Just let me dump the file straight into the device using a cable that is far more reliable and faster than wifi or bluetooth.

@Chris White
Yes its very anoying considering how well the chrome extension worked when it was first introduced. there is an easy wokround for this problem go to the dash and unlink strava from your account and then relink it the import process from strava will then work but it still throws an error even though its actually imported the route. The only problem is you will have to do it again when you come to import another route.
