Varia issues
AnsweredI have the varia radar, but notice it's not as annoying (in a good way) as the Garmin 1030 version
I have many instances of cars tailgating (or maintaining a similar speed) and these do not show up on the radar. (these did show on my 1030)
It seems maybe that the refresh rate for polling the radar is set quite low, as some cars that I can hear behind me do not show up until they are very close.
With the Garmin 1030, I could even detect speeding cyclists, but these are not showing up.
These seem like software issues to remove false positives, but I think they are set too low.
It would be good if we can adjust the sensitivity and polling refresh rate to suit our needs (I know this can reduce battery, but maybe we are fine with that?)

Hi, I didn't notice any differences between my Karoo and the Garmin display unit for the Varia radar. I ran both simultaneously for a while.
I might suggest you try comparing the 1030 and the Karoo with both connected to the Varia if you haven't done so already and see if you can home in on the difference.

Hi Jeff,
I'll have to run them both up again to be 100% sure with my explanation, but I definitely don't feel as safe and secure with the Karoo interpretation yet.
Several near-misses on a 100km ride yesterday, due to tailgating cars not updating on the display.
I've never had that with the 1030.

Hi Cedric,
We haven't received any reports regarding the same from other customers. I would like to look into this further by analysing the ride logs and FIT files. For this, could you please write back to us at support@hammerhead.io with the serial number of your Karoo and the FIT file of the activity? This will immensely help us to identify the issue and help you accordingly.
