Hammerhead Route dashboard
AnsweredHi,
For convenience i try to use the route builder of HH. But there is a big discrepancy between the planed height and actual ridden height . I live in the Netherlands and its hard to find height meters on shorter (< 75 km) rides. The dashboard is way to optimistic. Sometimes > 50% more then reality.
Can you investigate this? (i have the gpx files of a route and ride to compare, the ride was 221 H/M after a strava correct, otherwise it was around 200. The planned route was 341 H/M)
Also it would be nice to have some sort of overlay like:
https://ahn.arcgisonline.nl/ahnviewer/
This way I can plan the route with the most or least amount of height meters.
Thanks!

Hi, As you know, the Elevation is calculated on the basis of Barometric pressure on the Karoo and this may depend on the weather conditions as well. For this reason, it may vary with the reality.
At the same time, if you feel that the discrepancy is very significant, please reach out to us at support@hammerhead.io with the following details?
> GPX file of the Route
> FIT file of the activity
> Serial numner of your Karoo
In this way, we will be able to investiagte the issue and check if there is any abnormality in the recordings.

I will email you those files later this day. I've added the created route directly to Komoot and this gave me a way more accurate height (Still off but not so extreme). 221km ridden, komoot estimate 280. This way i took the 'barometric pressure' out of the equation. Is there an option (in the future) to get height meters based on GPS (3D fix)? Barometric is never been an trustworthy sensor due to chaining weater, heating up of the karoo when going indoors (Ride from home / cafe or bar stop).
