Wrong distance after pause

Since 3 weeks, after I take a break somewhere mid ride, my karoo displays a way too high distance. Yesterday I paused at around 80km and when jumping back on my bike it said i rode 140.. even after uploading to Strava the total distance is 60km too high. Tried a reset, no luck. Cant find anything strange in the gpx file, no strange gps points, route on Strava looks fine. Its just the distance (and the calculated avg. speed based on the distance). What can be the reason? And how to fix it?
