Unable to upload activity after battery dying
CompletedAfter only a two hour ride the battery died on my Karoo even though it was connected to a fully charged extended battery. I plugged in the Karoo and attempted to upload my activity to Strava without success. I then logged out on the Karoo; logged out of Strava; logged out of Dashboard. Logged back in and attempted to upload again. Even though I have a good cell connection, I made sure that I was on wifi. No success! Further, I rebooted the Karoo and attempted to upload again. My activity is not even uploading to the Dashboard. While I was typing up the details, I pushed the upload icon once more and the 'Saving' kept spinning without stopping. I really don't want to loose this activity! I'm sick of this device dying on such a short ride, especially when it is connected to an extended battery. The Karoo was charged to 100% before my ride started. Sometimes the extended battery keeps the Karoo charged for the entire ride, while other times it doesn't seem to charge it at all and the battery dies within a very short time.

Hello Ashish,
Same as Shannon Goan, I am unable to upload my activity which got recovered by my Karoo after my battery died towards the end of the ride. The activity is showing on the Karoo but is not showing up on the Dashboard. Also cannot upload the activity to Strava. Do you know how this can be solved? Would be a shame if this activity doesn't get recorded on my Strave account.

Hi Ashish,
I also have the same problem as described above. I checked my battery last night and it was 100%, however it failed after 22 miles, less than an hour and a half, and switched off.
The ride was recovered and is shown in activities on the device, but it will not load to either the dashboard or Strava. I have logged out/in of both Hammerhead and Strava, and also the same with wifi.
Do you have a solution please?

To fix my issue, I was first asked to drain the battery all the way. I started a fake ride to make the battery drain faster. I recorded the time that it took to drain. Then, I recharged the battery and started another fake ride and recorded the time that it took to drain. It still drained way too quickly. I was then asked to do a hard reset and that fixed my issue. I hope this helps.

Ah, so I guess my ride is lost as well...
There is a low battery warning now:
Battery Save Mode – Hammerhead

this happened to me as well. the battery died and my ride "recovered" when I powered it back up, but it won't upload. The problem is, this was an 80 mile ride with a PR I did on a segment that I might not be able to do again.
Garmins always save the ride even if the battery dies. I'm unhappy

Hi Joe, sorry to hear that and although this does not happen always, it does happen with an unknown root-cause as of now. You might be able to export the FIT file from Karoo by connecting to a computer and then uploading to the Strava manually If the dashboard don't show this ride too, or you can download the FIT file from Dashboard.
