Hey Thomas,
Sorry that you are not entirely happy with the Trade-in policy. We have thought a lot about this before we finalized the policy. A lot of our customers are planning to hold onto their Karoo units. It is completely your decision as it is a voluntary program.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide any discount of sorts if you choose to keep your Karoo unit.Comment actions -
On the flip side, I was pleasantly surprised by the trade-in offer. I've enjoyed the K1 but once the K2 arrives it would just sit in a drawer. The trade in is a great idea.
The K1 was a crowdsourced product. Delays happen, software is glitchy for a while. This is normal stuff. I figured the discount I got on the K1 by adopting early was my reward for putting up with some of that.
I'm excited for the K2!

It would be nice to have the opportunity to compare K1 and K2. Information about the K2 is rather brief, and it is not completely clear how both devices differ. For example, I can't find information on screen resolution and dimensions of the K2. It would be informative to have a full feature list of both devices on one page. This would make deciding on wether or not to go for the trade in program a lot easier. Thank you!

@ Franklin: I have separately preordered two K2s and plan to trade in my two K1s. The other is my wife’s. I assume that acceptable. Please confirm that the Garmin mount adapter is included and that the fit is just as secure. Most bikes now come with integrated bars/stems and splayd mounts for Garmin or Wahoo. Would have been better if Karoo adhered to one these standards rather than using an adapter.
