Navigation Off Course Re-rouuting options
AnsweredHi,
I am considering whether to get a Hammerhead or Garmin Edge 1030 Plus, current user of Edge 530, so I'm used to the Garmin ecosystem with all its "quirks". One thing that frustrates me about the Edge 530 is the re-routing if you go off course, it keeps trying to make you go back and rejoin the course from where you left it. At some undetermined point it gives up if you hit the course again at a later point but it won't route you back to the course at a later point until it has made up its mind, not sure how.
One feature that looks attractive about the Edge 1030 plus is that if you go off course, you can just hit a "navigation pause" button to pause routing. Then when ready to join the course again you can un-pause and it will give you an option to either rejoin the course back from where you veered off course or the nearest convenient point.
I hear navigation is supposed to be a strength of Hammerhead, does it have anything like the above feature? It would really help me make up my mind.
Thanks and cheers.

Karoo is designed in such a way that it will take your riding experience to the next level in all aspects. Instant Re-routing is one of the key drivers of Karoo 1 and Karoo 2 if you deviate from the Route. You can Pause the ride anytime on Karoo but that feature you are referring to is not specifically available when you go off Route and is applicable anytime during your ride..

Hi, thanks for the answer. But the feature I was referring to in Edge 1030 Plus doesn't require you to pause the ride, only the navigation so it stops bugging you to get back on course until you"re ready. Until then you continue your ride freestyle with the unit tracking everything but not doing navigation. And once you're ready, it gives you the option to route back to the course via the original departure point, or the nearest point. That is quite useful. So I am still not clear on whether Hammerhead has anything like that.
Does the Hammerhead have anything like that? Or even contemplated in the development pipeline?
Thanks.
