Freehand Map Routing
AnsweredThere should be a "freehand mode" of mapping route.
eg. Crossing a road should not be a long detour up & down the same road.
- on map the path stops short getting to road when in fact it does not stop.

Hey Bruce.
Thank you for sharing your input and this is really helpful while sharing the report with the Product team on a monthly basis.
Your feedback is enormously valuable to us and we always value customers who are keen to give us their feedback. I will be sure to pass on what you have told me to our Product team.
We are working on an extensive project on mapping and Routes and we are sure this will be improved incrementally towards the shipment of Karoo 2. -
Free hand mapping can be done with RWGPS line mode & Map-My-Ride in walking mode, while both are in cycling mode or with them in all walking mode, which is less useful following roads. Sometimes freehand (or foot) is needed to escape the algorithm, which gets "helpful" when not wanted.
I think my GPS has Alzheimer's, when I give it a route
It goes out wandering about, it must think that that's cute.
I want to take a shortcut, or hop a nearby curb,
but it takes me off to odd spots and this leaves me quite perturbed.
If I sneak up backwards on a road for just a scant few feet
There seems to be no way, without a path I can't delete
That goes to some way far off land, where it thinks magic lies,
And scolds me with its messaging in tones that I despise.
Now other folks would let me trip into a walker's manner,
Make my cross country violation, and go back to the route planner.
But not this guy, who punishes my dreams of quicker, shorter flight
With Donnybrooks , some distance long just to add to my plight.
So if we could have a walking mode, or perhaps draw in a line
To allow these indiscretions, I would think it mighty fine.
Or else I'll have to medicate the thing, or leave it with a friend
When I need to have a route to ride and not chase around the bend.
