    Hi All,

Please allow me to clarify how additional fees are calculated. As we mentioned in your pre-order confirmation email, units may incur additional taxes and duties.

Your particular order is shipping within Europe and is therefore subject to the applicable VAT tax, which varies according to your country’s policies. VAT is calculated after you enter your shipping address during checkout and is then added to your order total.

Your unit will be dispatched from our warehouse in Heinenoord, Netherlands so you will fortunately not be assessed any further duties, and fees, beyond this, nor will you need to handle any customs clearance.

Please let us know if you have any further questions

    Regard,

    The Hammerhead Team

My Karoo 1 shipped from Holland so there were no charges as an EU member state. I assume the k2 will be the same. If it’s after 1st jan however we will have left the EU by then so what charges, if any will be dependant on what our trading deal with the EU ends up as. If there is no trade deal, duty will be 14% (confirmed by gov website ) and maybe vat as well.

My K1 incurred about £60 in custom charges. This was a pre production order so it came from the US I think. Presumably the K2 will initially ship from there as well?

    Hey Jon.

There will be customs charges for the UK. Besides, there will be taxes specific to your country and you will get to know all about it before the final checkout.

    Hello

What you are saying is that even shipping from Holland for exemple to Portugal or any country in Europe there will 399USD plus taxes???

Is this correct... As I'm checking comments on Facebook about 85USD in taxes to France... Etc...

This became a almost 500USD unit.

Please confirm this if you please.

    Best Regards

That looks like vat ( sales tax) not a customs duty.

When I ordered the Karoo 1 last year the total price included the VAT tax. I paid $399.00 USD.

    Hey.....what is going on here?

I have pre-ordered the Karoo-2 as well, but am not aware of any additional TAX.

I agree with @Reno Jansen and share the same experience last year.  I bought the Karoo-1 and it was shipped from Netherlands.
As I am living in the Netherlands, there was no additional TAX or whatsoever.

Now, for Karoo-2 it seems as a unpleasant surprise that there will be an additional amount of TAX  (85 dollars!!)
    Why?

Is this Karoo-2 shipped from the USA?
In that case, I would rather wait another e.g. 2 weeks. Let Hammerhead first ship a bulk of Karoo-2´s to the warehouse in the Netherlands and have it distributed from there.

    Would that be an idea?
But by any means, don´t surprise us with the additional 85 dollars!

Resurrecting this thread to see if there any updates on what UK customers will now pay in VAT and customs charges for their K2 in light of additional delays (on Hammerhead's part) and in light of the trade deal that the UK Government has pushed through parliament today.

This would not be an issue if Hammerhead delivered my K2 when they originally said they were going to deliver it (middle/end of December) but now it looks like I am going to be liable for additional charges.

    Can anybody confirm?

    Thanks,

    Steve
