Long routes: recommended split length?
So far I haven't had any issue with "long" routes on my Karoo 2, up to 350km. However, I will soon have a 1300km route to load, and I'm wondering how much is too much for Karoo.. (even if it accepts the route, will it be slowed down etc.?)
Do you split your routes? If so, how long are your splits?
Also, will my Karoo be fine with a single activity spanning the whole 1300km?

Hi Ruby, the Karoo 2 can handle routes up to 500 miles (about 800 km) without issues. You can split your 1300 km route into sections. Every day, just turn on your Karoo 2 and load the same route, and it will automatically start from wherever you are on the route. We recommend saving your ride at the end of each day. This way, you’ll have a separate ride file for each day. If you want one long file after the trip, you can combine them using websites like www.gotoes.org or www.fitfiletools.com.

Thanks for the useful information!
About saving each day, that might come with issues of its own since in this race I have to go back to the route at the exact point I left it (I'll likely have to leave the route to find a bivvy spot), and that would no longer be visible in the morning if I do that.
I guess a solution could be to end my daily ride before looking for a place to sleep, start a new one immediately and shut down my Karoo when I found my spot. Then on the morning resume that few km long ride, which shouldn't be an issue, and I should be able to see what part of the route I actually did the day before.
