Karoo 3 Phone unpair when Wifi off

Hello, Every time I start my Karoo 3 at home where WiFi is available, then it pairs to my phone (Android, companion app) but unpair as soon as I leave home which I assume is when WiFi is out of reach. To pair again, I have to delete the device from Karoo companion app and re add it. I believe this doesn't happen if I start my Karoo with no WiFi available, then pairing to the phone works and lasts. Is this scenario possible? Not sure of the explanation but I definitely have to remove Karoo from the app and repair at each and every ride. Phone is Android
