Feature request - Strava live segment drawer not blocking arrow on map view.

I guess this is a somewhat tough one. I personally would not want the status bar to disappear in this case, because I find this inconsistent and it would trigger responses that don't like this. Meanwhile, the amount of space gained is really little.

In addition, the map page depends a lot on your setup (number of data fields, their position: top or bottom). Some users would want to keep the data fields (you could hide them), some would prefer to have the map visible (because it is the map page). However, I generally agree with you, because it is not only Strava segments, but the map cursor (position) is also hidden by the turn drawer, which I find really ridiculous: you are on the map page for navigation, when the turn drawer comes up to tell you you need to turn, which is blocking clear view on your position.

That being said, I would like if the position / map would slide up when any drawer is popping up. What I have tried is to put the data fields at the bottom, but I could not test how well this works (for me), because the weather is really terrible at the moment. In general, I think that the cursor position / map is pretty inconsistent and half baked at the moment (drawers, cursor position for routing mode vs non-routing, etc..

Well in the previous update ‘Auto switch to map’ made everything clear the screen including the status bar.
So during a Segment or navigation directions, the status bar can be temporarily turned off as far as I’m concerned.
But I agree, at least shift the map so that the arrow is visible isn’t a lot to ask.

Not sure if I misinterpreted this, but I thought this didn't have too much positive feedback. I haven't tested this myself (as I do not use that option). but I'd prefer to keep the status bar.

What would be more helpful would, indeed, be the proper positioning of the arrow/cursor. However, as this has been debated (where should it be when no drawer is active) before, I guess it isn't easy and HH rather don't touch it (it's kinda broken and many people are probably not happy or don't care, and the groups would just reshuffle after a change). :-D

But seriously, the current solution isn't good.

You interpreted right. But I was making a case that during a segment, only the status bar has to disappear to make the map shift easier.

Ok, but then this requires that you do not have any (or at least at most one row of) data fields (on top of the map page), because otherwise you will still not see the map.

I don't think so. I've got speed and distance on the top of the screen. But if the status bar disappears during a segment or navigation cue, then the data fields and map can shift up enough for the arrow to be seen.

This is what I said. For up to one row, it's ok. If you have a second row of data fields, there will not be enough space, even if the status bar disappears (which I would not fancy).
