iPhone 12 Pro no longer stays connected after latest Firmware Update

Since the latest firmware update, my Iphone 12 Pro no longer stays connected once a ride is started.  I get a connected notification before I start and then put the phone in my rear jersey pocket.  As soon as the ride starts, the connection stops within the first minute of riding.  This is very similar to the condition that was present a few firmware updates ago.  

Steps I tried:

1) Turn bluetooth off and on for both devices

2) Remove the iphone from the Karoo 2 and re-add it 

Still no luck as each ride starts.  Anyone else having this issue?

  Iphone11: Connection works only with iPhone in my hand in front of me, in front pocket of my jacket or in the top tube bag on the bike. If I put the iPhone in the back pocket of my jersey connection gets lost. Seems that my body is in the way of the transmission...
