Strava API and bike selection? Workarounds?
Not plannedDoes the Strava API support bike selections yet? I know this has been an issue in the past (uploading rides to Strava always selects the first bike) and wanted to check if there is either a fix or workaround for this.

The Strava API does support bike selection: https://developers.strava.com/docs/reference/#api-Activities-updateActivityById
Karoo would need to upload the activity first and then update it (gear_id). They could implement a bike select option at the end of the ride in the summary screen. But I believe this is not going to happen any time soon.

Hey... well at least you can change the bike in strava after the upload...
I'm pestering HH about fixing the type of ride for indoors to be properly classified as virtual rides as this cannot be changed after it's uploaded. I've sent them a ready fix over a month ago... Now make a guess what's the status of this kinda crucial (for workouts accounting) fix...

Resurrecting this old thread. Still don't have this capability yet.
Activity Fix is a really cool website (https://www.activityfix.com/) that allows you to make rules based changes to your Strava Activities. You can change the equipment type based on sensor data in the FIT File. Unfortunately, it looks like HH does not include the listing of sensors in the FIT file like Garmin and Wahoo do. I know Garmin does, I verified that this morning. I believe Wahoo does as well, but I don't have a unit to verify.
So how about it HH, please set it so that either the Karoo uploads the bike information to the Strava API or includes the sensor data with ANT+ ID. Better yet, do both.

Hammerhead, could you guys please finally provide an API to retrieve the FIT-file, so the sensor ID's can be used by third party apps like ActivityFix?
Wahoo has it... Garmin has it...Come on guys. We buy YOUR products and services, because we believe in you. Show us we made the right choice
