Custom workout screens
I have been using the Karoo 2 for a few rides now and I really enjoy it for when I’m just riding with friends and we are following a route. But I also do alot of structured workouts, ofcourse it’s annoying that we are not able to use .fit files or other files and can only use Trainingpeaks. But what is more annoying (and makes me want to use a different cycling conputer) is the workout screen. This is what I’m missing right now:
- heartrate, it’s just nice to know your heartrate when doing intervals, even when I already have a powermeter.
- the workout on TP is always something like 180-210 watts, Karoo now picks the number in between as a target (195 in this case). But it would be nice to have the range from TP on karoo, it works better for shorter intervals where it might be hard to sustain a very high stable power.
- the ability to change the power per second to power per 10/30/60 seconds (just like the other screens)
- a small vertical line on the left side of the screen (kind of like the line from Garmin Varia) with a dot in the middle to show if your power is in the interval range. This way I can look at my route when I do a long interval and still keep an eye if I’m putting out the correct power. This is something the Wahoo Roam has with their LED lights on the side, at a quick glance you can see if you have to push harder or not. This is a completely new feature so I can understand that this is not something you are currently working on.
Right now it really feels like the workout feature is completely separate from all the other screens. The ability to build a custom workout screen is a must fir someone who does alot of training.
I really enjoy my Karoo but without a well functioning workout mode I have to switch back to my roam.

I 100% completely agree with this feedback. For anyone regularly using structured workouts, there needs to be the ability to customize the workout screen. Personally, I need to add HR, want 3sec average power vs. instantaneous power, and need a larger Target Power so I can see it (and maybe some other fields as well)
When should I expect you to add this capability? If you do not, I may have to go back to Wahoo, which I'd prefer not to do...

Guys, this is getting annoying. What is the Hammerhead team priority on this topic? The workout feature is useless unless the following features will break in.
1) power (or HR) range and cadence as they are set in TP instead of the average value. Easy to introduce, zero effort.

2) as somebody mentioned an HR number somewhere in the screen would be nice (not a must for me, just nice to have).
This is absolutely necessary for the buddies that really train seriously. Please fix ASAP.

100% agree with Andrea!!
Agree with everything said so far every user.
Target Watts are too small, need to be bigger. the ones with the big arrows pointing at them on the picture above.I have to use a different screen to see heart rate. If you are doing VO2 work based around efforts to keep your heart rate up then a different screen is the only solution.

Also, when you finish an interval you get that small pop up of the max speed, average speed, etc. from that interval.
It would be nice to see you average wattage instead of speed for the interval, when you are doing a workout your speed is the last thing you have to think about. It would be nice to see my average wattage to know if my effort was on target or if I have to try harder next interval.

oh wow! Thanks Niels I'll give it a go.
Is there a chance you also know how to go back in an interval. I know there are the two arrows, but with the back arrow I can't seem to go further back than the start of the interval I'm doing, but sometimes I want to do an extra set and go back 3-4 intervals. I have tried double tapping, swiping and holding the back button but it always just seems to go to the start of my current interval.

The current functionality of workouts is workable but as I recently discovered when doing a hard interval session, there is no way to move forward and jump to the next interval. You can increase or decrease the % but unless it is an outdoor ride, you cannot move forward for workouts completed indoors on a trainer. This basic feature has been available for years with competitor head units. When will we see improvements in the imported workout functionality? There are times when one may not have the legs to complete an interval set and need to jump forward to the next etc. Looking through the forum on the subject of workouts, improvement is long overdue and I would like to see this move forward over the continued climb feature improvements. Most updates lately are focused on this over new features. Thanks.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I totally agree with @Andrea; without that, it's unusable with structured workouts. https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/community/posts/4403964178715/comments/4405421207579
I would like to see what @Andrea says + interval number/total intervals + the ability to go back to previous intervals, not only forward intervals.
I'm going to give HH a chance, but if they don't improve this, sadly, I'll go to Wahoo.

HH is the reference for navigation, but I need to do structured workouts.
