Karoo2 Suddenly Died-will not turn on

    I got the exact same issue with my Karoo2 too. I really hope there is a fix for this, because I can't get any contact to the unit at all.

    It’s now a very expensive paperweight. I sent in a helpline request, but no reply yet. I fear they don’t know what it is. I’m ready to demand a full refund. Also ready to go public if this is not resolved.

    I have also sent support a message and really hope they are able to fix the problem, but might not be easy, when the unit is stone dead. I have been happy with Hammerhead support, so I have heigh hopes that they solve it.

    Mine just did the same thing this morning. Charged after the update on Thursday, now completely dead. Can't even do hard reset on it.

    EDIT: Connected it to a different cable and plug, left it for a minute then pressed all 4 buttons and it came back to life.  Seems I left it on after the update while it was charging, but while switched on wasn't taking any charge, so ran out of juice.

     

    Is it normal behaviour not to take charge while being switched on?

    That is odd. Mine always charged to 100% while being on, however I think it turned off automatically. I’ll try a different cable and charger.

    It was fully charged Thursday. I disconnected it and switched it on to do the update. Afterwards plugged it back in and turned it on to make sure a route had downloaded to it, but forgot to turn it off. Today when I went to switch it on, it was completely dead.

    Seems strange behaviour but I had to disconnect it and then plug it again to get the basic amount of juice for it to turn on. I thought it had died completely in the meantime.

    I've the same trouble with the Karoo 1. After the last update on Friday, 30.07.2021 the unit won't switch on by pressing the power button. The unit is fully charged but completely dead. If I plug in a charging cable - I tried different ones - the unit won't charge (there is no charging screen). I tried also an hard reset that doesn't work.

    I also see an issue with the connection of the USB cable. Sometimes after connecting, the K2 doesn't load. After reconnecting with same cable, it starts loading. This happens with different cables, so not an issue of a particular cable.

    No, Edgar. I tried different cables. The Karoo doesn't start loading if I plug in them.

    @Klaus, my submission wasn't a reaction on yours. I just pointed to another issue with loading the K2.
