Fazua integration?

Can you load third party apps on the K2 unit?

I'm trying to find out if my K2 can display Fazua engine metrics (cadence, motor level, rider power, etc.) They have a normal phone app to do that, but with my K2 on the dashboard why would I need another device!

    Hey Peter,

    You can definitely sideload third-party applications on the Karoo 2. We have not tested or worked on any integrations with this Fazua app yet. Therefore you might not get the full experience with the app as you may expect.

    We have had many requests for E-Bike integration on the Karoo 2. It's definitely something we plan to do in the future. As more and more people ask for it, it will move up in priority!

    I am still interested, when will this be done, i hate to sell the karoo 2 and to get a sigma or garmin that do have the integration

    I think I'll just go with garmin and get my blood glucose directly

    You can add the FAZUA to the HH and use it for power and cadence but after a previous update the ability to get speed was last so you’ll need a speed sensor.

    Hey Jens, can you tell me the exact versions of the software and firmware you're running on the Karoo and the Fazua unit?

    I have a Fuji E-Jari and I'm trying to connect my Karoo 2 but it will only offer to log rider power output, not even cadence and speed.

    The problem is, that Hammerhead team, does not understand that their im,plementation is worse.

    Karro shows FAZUA is connected.

    Under the hood those are three sensors, but you cannot enable or disable those seperatly.

    I can accapt limitations but those shall never lead to a negative impact on others sensors:

    • Cardance by FAZUA  works well
    • Power by FAZUA works well
    • Speed by FAZUA seems to be worse integrated

    "Speed by FAZUA" leeds to an issue, that the fusioned Speed becomes often to ZERO.

    I am working in the automotive industry:

    Speed is a Safty Critical Sensor, so the fusion of sensors shall never never lead to situation that speed is wrong.

    If I get a ticket because of a speed limit violation Hammetrhead shall pay for for it

    From my point of view  Hammergead team needs to work on two issue:

    1) Improve the Fusion of Sensors, this is independent of FAZUA integration. If a sensor delivers questionable results, this sensor needs to be turned off.

    2) Improve FAZU integration

     

    (1) Needs to done ASAP

    (2) the team can plan the FAZUA integration and should work on this.

     

    In addition Hammerhead should cleary communicate this restriction:

    DO not buy this device if you want to connect FAZUA, list to be continued

     

    I have asked Hammerhead Support to givce me a contact of 2nd level Support as 1st level support does not understand or is not willing to understand the criticallity of wrong spee values shown to the customer, but for this I do not get any answer.

    No of my Garmin or Wahoo devices has such problems. It is nice to get Software every two weeks, but of this softer is worse implemented and validates less could be more.

    Jens Vogelgesang, I just saw your post. My Karoo 2 arrived a few days ago and I'm already disappointed. This device is just nice colored screen with ability to install a few android apps like Spotify. It's really like a toy comparing to Garmin. It's rather surprising that HH is not a 6-month old startup, but exists since many years ago and got quite a few basics wrong or not implemented at all!

    I'm really on the verge of returning the device, despite the huge discount.
