350km ride with the K2 : a few requests.
Hi team,
I'm just back from a five-day 350km trail ride across southern England and I have to say my K2 performed amazingly well while out on rides. I have just a few observations that I wonder if you would consider:
During the ride, I needed to charge the K2 while recording. I found the charging indicator to be really small and barely visible - could we have an icon next to the battery similar bolt icon used on Iphone /android? I had to keep checking by unplugging and plugging back in again. A beep to let you know that charging is engaged would also be great!
A lot of my route for this trip was off-road and on dirt track, the K2 kept rerouting me even though I was on the right track. Is there / can we have a way to turn rerouting off mid-ride?
One problem I did have was my unit kept telling me that it wasn't recording, and I was wondering if this was because it had lost the GPS signal, however, my partner road with me using a K2 and their unit didn't seem to have this problem. I will do a factory reset to see if this resolves the issue but wonder if this has happened to anyone else.
Finally, the new K2 skins - I purchased an orange one to go with my moss green Lauf... it looked stunning!! It would be great to see more skins / covers / cycling caps and general mech, please.
Keep up the amazing work!!
Peer.

I like to frequently take the road (and trail) less travelled, often, in my case, deep in the woods with a poor GPS signal. That frequently causes the Karoo to think I'm off my desired route when, in fact, I'm not. Like you suggest, it would be nice to be able to switch off re-routing mid-ride. I imagine this can only help battery life too.

THE IMPACT OF TEMPERATURE ON KAROO 2 BATTERY
- The Karoo 2 operating temperature range is rated for -10°C to 50°C, but for the purposes of testing battery life, all tests are run at 13-33°C.
- Colder temperatures will lower the overall capacity of the battery but it will not be a permanent effect and charging may not be possible at low temperatures. Charging or discharging at high rates and temperatures above 30°C will decrease the overall cycle life of your battery.
- Do not store your Karoo 2 for long periods of time fully charged or discharged. Lithium polymer batteries last longer when stored at 50-70% charge.
- If you have stored your Karoo 2 for a long time while charging, it's best to fully discharge and recharge your Karoo 2 to reset the battery logic.
