Direction of route in-progress confusing when route crosses itself?

Is it just me, or is it hard to read the map on the K2 when there's some route overlaps on the way out and way back?  When there's something like below, it's really hard to read the map (and you can see I went down the wrong direction for about 100 feet before figuring it out).

  With the chevrons, I don't find this to be a problem generally. Although if you zoom out too much, the chevrons disappear, and it would be a problem. Could this be your issue?

  i have noticed that too and will try zooming in.  even though i never changed the default zoom.
