Totally agreed. Tho better to have this kind of setting on a per profile basis. Pretty much how Garmin has this.

Also totally agree!  Although I don't want to have to set up a second profile just to disable this.  As the first poster said, I'd love it to be in the Android pull-down menu.  I sometimes do long rides where I'm interested in Strava Segments on the first half, but completely uninterested in the second.  It'd be nice to have a quick way to disable the drawer auto pop-up.

I raised a separate request suggesting that rather than making SLS a pop up (where its too small to read anything anyway) that it should be made a configurable window like all others are so that sizes can be set for whats important and so that old folk like me with poor reading eyesight can actually read anything :-). In this profile it could have an on off as you suggest.

One more point of clarification. I tested on a ride yesterday and one is able to mute any given Strava segment after it pops up (expand it to full screen, and then tap its icon at the top of the screen). This has the effect of muting that SLS for its duration. However, it does not prevent new SLS from popping up as they approach/begin/end.

I think the best way should be applying the options (climb, segments, turns) to profiles and not globally, so you can have a profile "race" without notifications and another for usual rides.

    !00%!

Drawer pop-ups are annoying, especially because they hide the map. I'd like the option to disable drawer pop-ups granularly, IOW which drawer pop-ups to disable, and perhaps independently in each profile rather than globally (since this seems to be the way Hammerhead codes).
