Karoo 2 no recording and shows no data

Just got my new KAroo2 and the first ride was fine.  Since then the unit shows no data at all, and no elapsed time during the ride.  The map works during the ride but does not record any gps data. ending the ride will show the correct ride time but nothing else.

This is annoying for what is supposed to be a high end computer
