Karoo 2 Insert for Mounts

Has the idea of a better mount adapter been discussed? Companies like K-Edge allow for replacement inserts. Hammerhead should make an insert (like the Garmin one linked below) that can be screwed into the mount. In other words, a male version of the Karoo 2 mount that screws into the k-edge mount. No adapter needed! You get all the benefits of Karoo's great mounting system...none of this quarter turn adapter junk that negates all the benefits of Hammerhead's new system...but the added ability to use a k-edge (or other) mount that works on integrated handle bar systems, aero bars, etc, or even just allows people to use a better mount than the plastic one Hammerhead sells. https://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/garmin-mounts/replacement-garmin-insert-kit/

    Been discussed lots of times; search works surprisingly well.

    This is my solution, using a K-Edge mount with the Combo adapter to sling a front light underneath:

    This is a 3-D printed insert from an eBay seller in the UK. Excellent quality insert supplied with stainless steel screws. I could not be happier with this mounting solution.

    Are you in the UK? US eBay doesn't list the inserts. I can find them if I  go to UK eBay, but they don't seem to want to ship to US. I have a message out to the seller. If you are in the US, let me know how you were able to buy. If you are in the UK...I'm jealous!!

    MagCAD seems to make a couple Karoo mounts, but not inserts. Maybe I'll email and see if that's something they can make/sell.

    Yes, David, I am in the UK. Getting hold of this replacement foot was not an issue for me.

    If he's willing to post to the US - and you're willing to pay for it - it's well worth the wait. It's a really nicely printed foot that is a perfect fit for the Karoo 2. I've had mine for almost 9 months now and it's not showing any wear. My Karoo 2 remains a nice tight fit on it.

    As for Wera tools, I agree; A fraction of the cost of a set of Silca HX-Ones and probably better quality.

    @Steve Do you know if it fits also a K-Edge Garmin Max XL Combo Mount? I don´t know if there a differences for these mounts. :-) ty

    Yes, Sebastian, I think it will fit the k-Edge Garmin Max XL Combo Mount but I believe it requires the use of a shim (between the mount and the replacement foot) and some slightly longer screws due to the deeper well of the XL mount.

    The eBay seller should be able to advise; he was very helpful when I bought mine. If you let him know you have the Max XL mount, he may be able to supply the shim and longer screws.
