+1 and import possibility from " regular" formats. Possibility to choose data fields random

Found one more issue today I’ve experienced in the past but forgot to mention. Skipping forward in a workout works as expected, but skipping back doesn’t work at all. If you skip back it just jumps to the beginning of the current interval. No matter how many times you skip back, it just takes the same interval you’re on and adds another one.

It's really time to start working on the workout function, there are so many request and right now the workout screen is just so limited compared to the other functions of the karoo. I love the device but it would be great if the workout feature would get a bit more attention.

@Hammerhead, any update on this? A friend just got a K2 on the Black Friday deal and tried to do a workout this morning and her first question to me was how do you control trainer mode? On the Wahoo(what she used to use) it’s just on the main workout page…. I told her but didn’t have the heart to tell her that even if she changes it to something else it won’t work since it reverts back to ERG at each interval. It would be great to have an update.

as someone who does a lot of structured workouts, I think there's def a need for more customization in the workout player.    I agree with the features suggested so far and would like to add the option to edit the workout from the head unit.   usually I only edit my workouts by changing the rest interval from a timed length to a "press lap key to end" length.  this allows me to get to the start of the next interval start location without the work interval starting.   I know I can edit this in training peaks but that just adds an extra step.

Edit:  so I was just messing with my Karoo for my workout today and it seems editing the workout in training peaks to work off of "press lap keys to end" does not work on the Karoo 2.    so it looks like if the interval starts before I get to my interval start location I can just hit the workout player back button to restart the interval when I get there.   this works for long intervals like a 20 min work interval but wouldn't work for really short intervals because you would have to hit the back button every 30 seconds because you can't go back more then one interval

I do agree with most of the comments in this thread. Workouts in Karoo 2 are waaaay improvable. You should add the chance of moving back or forward the workout intervals using the physical buttons, It is highly improbable that u are able to skip the interval with tactile touch during winter with long finger gloves. It would be cool if we could skip the interval using the lap button for example.

    Hello all!

Thanks for all of the great feedback about Workouts! I have compiled everything here and shared this with our Product Team. Your real-world experiences are quite valuable to us and they help us to understand what changes and updates are the most important and will add the most value.

Our team is currently looking into the Workouts feature and there will be some changes coming in future updates. I don't have a timeline to share yet, but it is coming! We really do appreciate posts like this - keep sharing your great ideas!

For anyone following this looking for additional data fields for workouts, I created a new data page and have it directly following the k2 workout page. During a workout I can easily flip from the workout page to the self created data page via the di2 buttons on my shifters. The nice part is the data on the page I created resets (automatically) for each interval and rest period, so if you know your target power, it’s easy to check average lap power to know what power you are at over the course of an interval (aka lap).

the data page I created I show the following items: lap power, 3s power, hr, cadence, and lap time.   It actually works really well and all the data resets automatically after each lap.

+1 on all this feedback. The most important one to me is the visual range. Most of my workouts have a range, and being able to easily target the top end or the bottom end depending on how I'm feeling is really beneficial.

I too do 5-6 structured workouts a week, so I basically live in the workout player.

I thought I could live without this feature when I came from Garmin, but I'm starting to find myself wanting to go back to my Garmin Edge just for this feature.

There are rumors of a Garmin Edge refresh coming, hoping to see some updates in this area of the product before that happens so I'm not too tempted to switch!

Any update on this? Specifically about the following:

    • Countdown beeps for next lap
    • Show power/time for upcoming lap.

Yep, the workout page is light years far from what you find in any edge from Garmin. We need:
    1. Countdown beeps for next lap
    2. Possibility to move between different intervals (easily)

    1. Countdown
    2. Move between intervals with buttons
    3. Range not only target

I have several "wants" related to the work out player that I have grown accustom to in other players used....

    1.  Repeat interval

    2. Skip to end of interval

    3. Increase decrease target power/resistance

    4. Extend interval at current target

these would be great to see!
