I guess the sinewave output is more important; "The Revolution output is a standard USB charger (5V), and can provide up to 1 Amp. With a hub generator, charging starts at only 3.5 MPH (5.5 km/h), although this can depend on your device's ability to trickle charge. At only 9 MPH (14.4 km/h), charging is as fast as a wall-powered charger." From the Sinewave WEB-site

I have since short time also a Karoo 2 and it is not easy to load the Karoo2. If you record a track, so it is not possible to charge the device without a puffer battery at the DC converter. This is my first device that have this problem. If I stop, not pause!, the recording of the track - charging will work. I'm not happy with that and normally - each mobile phone loads without any concerns, but the Karoo 2 will not load beside his usage.

Background why I charge beside the usage. I look at my navigation of the Karoo 2, especially for long distance rides, and will charge the device also too, beside by usage of the light. I tested also with a deactivation of the light, but it will also not work, only after stop tracking.
Maybe there is a software switch possible to allow charging the Karro 2?
The slogan of the device is "Next-Generation Cycling Computer" - in some cases there is a step backward to my old Garmin Edge 1000 and current so much cheaper Trimm.bike The cost of the device is heave and map not the resulting device for the customer. Currently, I am not happy with the Karoo 2 and I hope for several updates in shorter time.

Frank, I assume by the term "load" you mean "charge"? I had no success charging the K2 with the Sinewave Revolution from the Sondelux Hub. It would start charging but everytime I stopped it would not continue charging when I started back up. If I unplugged and replugged the USB from the Sinewave it would start up again, fairly repeatable. I am now testing the Igaro D2. So far it is much better, starts charging again after stopping but it does at times stop charging, appears rather random. I only charge the unit during the day and power the light at night, I don't run them both at the same time.

    Thanks Stephen!
    Sort, yes I mean charging.
I tested it currently with a Busch Müller E-Werk without a buffer battery. Next try is with the buffer. But there is heavy and since several years not necessary, at first, maybe, for the Karoo 2.

Hi Frank: I got the Hub for the light. I usually carry a 10Ma battery to power my cycling computer which lasts for my 4-5 Rando events. So the AC/DC converter is a nice to have but it has to work without the battery. Otherwise I will just use the battery and skip the hassle of the converter. I will also test on my Wahoo when I go back to Canada as I don't use the K2 on big events as it doesn't handle custom cues from RWGPS.

With all the other devices, I haven't any problems, only with the Karoo 2. I load also mobiles, Garmin Edge and Wahoo about the last years, always with the Busch Müller E-Werk, before was a simple USB Werk - https://www.bumm.de/en/products/stromversorgung.html I have also a puffer battery, bit never in usage because weight and not necessary. I will try them and give an update. However, I would read feedback from the Karoo Dev Team, because maybe it is a simple change inside the application necessary.

I am happy to hear that the Wahoo handles the USB power input in such a way that allow Dynamo hubs to function efficiently. I don't think the target market for Wahoo/Karoo includes the small group using dynamo hubs direct to USB devices but who knows. I would rather they spend their resources on doing the custom cue implementation, but I've become a broken record on that feature. I think they shifted from focusing on being a navigation market leader to other markets.

    Hey everyone,

Just got recently a Karoo 2 and wanted to power it threw a Son 28 dynamo hub via a Sinewave Beacon lamp. It doesn't work and I'm having the exact same problem as Frank : as long as you record a track, it doesn't load. Anyone find a solution by any chance ? I was thinking about switching cables but apparently it's not gonna make it.

It doesn't make any sens... What a waste of money this cycling computer was. Definitely going back to my old Garmin.
