Feature Request: Modern Bike profile / Profile / Data Screens Architecture
This would be a big change, but I would love to see Hammerhead implement a modern architecture for Profiles, Bike Profiles, and Data Screens: I should be able to create a Profile, and then assign already created Data Screens + a Bike Profile to the "Profile". The big change is that Data Screens would be independently created from a Profile, so I could reuse the same Data Screen across multiple profiles. In effect, a Profile becomes a "container" for:
- Bike Profile
- A set of Data Screens - could be all, or just some of your Data Screens
- Profile specific settings: e.g., Auto Lap, Auto Pause, enable / disable GPS, etc.
The big advantage of this is that you would only need to create a specific data screen layout once, and then could reuse it across multiple Profiles (really "ride" Profiles).
And then my supper want would be for all of this to be configurable in the web dashboard, plus if / when Hammerhead releases a Karoo 3, I should be able to set it up by simply importing my existing Karoo setup.

I use my K2 and my Favero Assioma power meter pedals on a bike with 175mm crank arms, and another with 172.5mm crank arms. I agree with the feature request, because it'd be really nice if I could pick a different ride profile for each bike that would automatically set the sensor settings to whichever were required.

Right now, I have 1 ride profile because it is a pain to create multiple profiles, create the same data screen multiple times, and things like bike selection are associated with ride profiles.
But I'm also thinking of the future when I get a Karoo 3 or 4 or ..., and setting it up means starting from scratch. Why? Also, if I can have an unlimited number of data screens, why are they hard-coded to a single profile? That means if I have the same data screen for multiple profiles, if I tweak one (for example: Hammerhead implements my other suggestion to have battery level fields for every sensor, so I add additional battery fields to a battery level data screen), I have to tweak it everywhere I have this same data screen. That is a useless exercise.

A further want would be to be able to tie certain sensors to a bike, and if those sensors are connected, then the bike should be automatically selected.
With the proliferation of electronic shifting, bike selection should be automatic when a specific electronic shift ID is found, there is 99.9999999% confidence that this is tied to a specific bike. So why can't the Karoo auto associate a ride based on this?
Power meters would be another way to auto associate a ride to a specific bike, especially for crank based power meters. But this association is a lower percent than electronic shifting, given that people could switch power pedals, power meter hubs, etc. between bikes. But it would still be better if the Karoo 2 auto selected the most probably bike, and you could always change it.
