Current Elevation is off
Answered-
I have read numerous posts and replies over a period of a year or so; the issue remains. K2 consistently overstates elevation gain….by significant amounts…typically 20% plus on each ride (vs Strava or Garmin) Surely this must be one of the biggest unsolved issues. Don’t get me wrong, the ongoing software updates reflect a proactive and consistent effort by HH staff to drive customer satisfaction, but this issue is fundamental. Having introduced the excellent climber function , surely the gain needs to be in right ball park!! Otherwise it makes the feature, well, somewhat irrelevant.

I have the same problem and sentiments re developers, kudos to regular updates.
I would like to do expand a little more on the issue and possible impacts. See I believe that the data I record should be correct and if it is known to be incorrect in an area I can truly be sure it is wrong how can I be sure the device is giving me correct data for other measures eg distance or average speed of anything. It comes back to trust I guess.
My problem is I regularly ride the same ride during my lunch break and have been recording data from these ride for 7 years. I have just taken a look back and there is a lot of variation over this time and it is grouped into 3 trends that correlate to 3 devices recording the data. The oldest device is surprisingly (and counter intuitively) the most accurate, I would think that accuracy would get better with each device as technology improves. My ride is just over 20km and is coastal with no climbing, the biggest elevation change is about 5m over a bridge. Karoo2 has the largest variation in range and highest recorded amount 37m - 257m. I think this is unacceptable. +200m variation where the 37m recording is most likely the most accurate. The old Garmin had the least variation and the most accurate recording 24m -72m and the Wahoo was in between the other two 35 -137. Let's get some of that SRAM budget working to resolve this ongoing problem so I can trust my Karoo and suppress these urges to change to a more accurate device.
