UI suggestions
AnsweredI've had my Karoo 2 for a month now and it's been great - especially the mapping functionality!
Coming from a Wahoo Roam though, I hope the team can adopt a couple of things I love about the Wahoo:
1. Zooming in/out in a data screen.
Wahoo enables zooming in on data fields by increasing/decreasing the number of fields with zoom. This is great since I usually ride with 6 fields showing for greater visibility, and can zoom out to 10 fields for rarely-used data e.g. temperature. While this can be simulated using multiple data screens, zooming is a more elegant solution.
Right now, long-press on A or C buttons in a data screen doesn't do anything, so supporting zoom in/out (2 fields at a time to preserve layout) should be possible. This means that data screen editing layout needs changes - say, always present one with max number of fields since you can zoom in. This also simplifies the profile layout selection screen.
2. Up/down arrow next to current speed.
This is a very simple solution to not requiring another data field to show average speed - up arrow means you're above average, down arrow means below. Simple, and efficient!
3. Brightness control tweak.
Right now, tapping the square brightness slider thumb makes it 'jump' to the absolute brightness mapped to the vertical position of the tap. Say brightness is at 0%, and I tap near the top of the thumb - it instantly jumps to 20% brightness.
It would be better to only change brightness when you drag the thumb - more in line with the smooth Karoo UI animations. Instantly jumping to a setting can be a little jarring.
Hope the team will consider these suggestions for future updates!

Yes, for the map screen. My suggestion is for zooming in the data screen. This is what it looks like on Wahoo: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PwjSfQgtMwU

@Dan: First of all, we appreciate you sharing your valuable feedback and the improvements that you would like to see on Karoo 2.
1. Zoom in/out is possible only on the Map page as of now and the ability to zoom in/out the Data screens could be a valuable addition for us to add. The upcoming Elevation graph is the only Data field that you will be able to zoom in as of now by tapping on the Data field.
2. We understand how useful this graphical display could be to understand if you are moving above or below the average speed. We had this feature before and we would like to see this on Karoo 2 again in a better and more refined way.
3. Thanks for sharing your experience with regard to the brightness slider. Your suggestion is valid. We are scoping out more ways to make it better, more user-friendly, and more intuitive.
Your suggestions and feedback have been forwarded to the Product team as these could be very useful additions to Karoo 2.

@Hari: Hi, want to support this feature request.
The Karoo2 offers the possibility to create multiple data pages per profile...which is great.
Having the additional possibility to increase (zoom in)/decrease (zoom out) the number of shown data fields on a data page would be great.
This could be done with long press right or left button (same function as on graphic map page).
Cheers Andreas
