Garmin Taillight Mode Auto On and Mode

Need help.   Need to know if this is suppose to work as advertised and if it does for others, why it doesn't for me (especially since we now have even better access via control center).

I have a Garmin Taillight / Radar.  In the K2 it specifically states DEFAULT LIGHT MODE..and lists Solid Low, Slow Flash, Fast Flash and Off.

My light has never gone into any of these modes nor SHUT OFF at the end of a ride.  I have always had to push the top button on my Radar and rotate through the modes I wish for each ride, from the GARMIND Light Button.  I shut it off manually etc.

Now we have access to Control Center (I think we call it) and it too shows these modes, it does show the current mode I'm in, when I press the button on the garmin to switch.  However the K2 will not switch the modes from the Control Center, it goes to the selected mode and then after a second or two (probably when it gets the over the air update) switches back to the mode it is actually.

So, is there suppose to be TWO WAY communication between the K2 and Garmin Light/Radar/  If so does this work in ANT+ mode.....I've never seen/been able to pair via BT.

If the above is true what info does Support need to troubleshoot this issue.  I'd love to get my radar/light to work like it did with my 530 :)

I've tried pairing and unpairing to reset...but only via ANT+

    What I was told is to reset the garmin radar. Now mine turns on and sometimes turns off too. reset the radar holding the button in for at least 8 seconds then re pair it.

    These worked for all the riders who had the issue. Also, be informed that they connect only via ANT+ not on BLE.

    The first time this didn't work for me...but finally I did get it to work.  Now it turns on and off when I start/end a ride!  yay!  Thanks.

    Is it possible to set the default mode? The integration works bi-directionally as I would expect, but the light always turns on to steady mode. Can this be changed?

    go to the light settign and change it though having it in the mode you want may help.

    I can change the mode just fine. It's just that it would be nice to have a settable default instead of manually changing it every time. Yeah, I know. First world problems.

    you can its setup in the ride mode your in. mine always comes on as day flash.
